God's Word comes "from above" and is indeed very helpful to hearts that hunger and thirst after righteousness. When a person repents, forsakes sin, invites the Lord Jesus Christ to dwell in his heart, and believes with all his heart on the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, the Lord will manifest Himself to him and impart His own joy and peace to the believer's heart. I experienced this in 1937 and have enjoyed wonderful fellowship with the Lord ever since. THE LOVE OF GOD — page 1

THE ATONEMENT OF CHRIST'S BLOOD — page 10

SALVATION BY FAITH IN CHRIST — page 11

GOD'S MERCY — page 12

For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children. —Psalm 103:11, 17

Blessed be God...the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort. —II Corinthians 1:3

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. Micah 7:18 For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds. —Psalm 108:4

It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. —Lamentations 3:22, 23

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. —Titus 3:5

GOD BIDS US COME TO HIM — page 13

WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT STRONG DRINK — page 15

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. —Galatians 5:19-21

Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. —Romans 13:13, 14

Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them! —Isaiah 5:11

Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. —Proverbs 23:31, 32

SINCERITY IS NOT ENOUGH — page 16

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. —Proverbs 16:25

BE NOT DECEIVED — page 17

Be not deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. —Galatians 6:7

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. —I John 3:7, 8a

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. —Ephesians 5:6

SIN BRINGS DEATH — page 18

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. —Romans 5:12

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. —James 1:15

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. —Romans 8:6, 7

CHRIST CONQUERED DEATH — page 19

THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD — page 20

Thou shalt have none other gods before me.

Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them....

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee. Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work....

Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee....

Thou shalt not kill.

Neither shalt thou commit adultery.

Neither shalt thou steal.

Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour's. —Deuteronomy 5:7-21

YOU CANNOT HIDE FROM GOD — page 21

For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings. There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves. —Job 34:21, 22

Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD. —Jeremiah 23:24

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. —Psalm 139:8 and 12

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. —Proverbs 15:3

EVERLASTING PUNISHMENT OF THE UNGODLY — page 22

The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. —Matthew 13:41, 42

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. —Psalm 9:17

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. —II Peter 3:7

Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power. —II Thessalonians 1:9

Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt [crippled] or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. —Matthew 18:8

JUDGMENT AHEAD — page 23

Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. —Acts 17:31

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished. —II Peter 2:9

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. —I John 4:17

It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. —Hebrews 9:27

And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. —Revelation 20:12b

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body,...whether it be good or bad. —II Corinthians 5:10

THE GRACE OF JESUS CHRIST — page 24

But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. —Romans 5:15

So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy. —Romans 9:16

REPENTANCE — page 25

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent. —Acts 17:30

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. —Luke 13:3

And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. —Matthew 3:2

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS — page 26

But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. —Ezekiel 18:21

When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. —Mark 2:5

ETERNAL LIFE — page 30

CONFESSION OF CHRIST NECESSARY — page 34

SATAN — OUR ARCH ENEMY — page 35

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. —Ephesians 6:10, 11

VICTORY OVER SATAN — page 36

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil. —Hebrews 2:14

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. —I John 3:8

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. —Romans 8:35 and 37

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God and he will draw nigh to you. —James 4:7, 8a

And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders. —II Thessalonians 2:8, 9

Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. —John 12:31

LOVE, THE TEST OF DISCIPLESHIP — page 37

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. —I Corinthians 13:1

THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST — page 38

THE RESURRECTION, OUR GLORIOUS HOPE — page 39

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. —John 5:25 and 28, 29

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. —Romans 6:3-5

And if Christ be in you...the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. —Romans 8:10, 11

HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD — page 41

GOD SPEAKS TO US ABOUT DIVORCE — page 46

For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery. —Luke 16:18

But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. —Matthew 5:32

JESUS CHRIST WILL RETURN TO EARTH — page 47

GOD'S WAY OF SALVATION

I need a Savior.
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. —Romans 3:23

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God. —Isaiah 59:2a

Christ died for me.
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God. —1 Peter 3:18a

I need to repent of my sin.
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. —Proverbs 28:13 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out. —Acts 3:19a

I must receive Jesus by faith.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. —John 1:12

I can be sure of my salvation.
He that hath the Son hath life. —1 John 5:12a

Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." —John 5:24
